Entrapment

PENDINGUnknown

What does this charge mean?

This is a legal defense (not a crime itself) that says you should not be punished if a police officer or their agent tricked or pressured you into committing a crime that you wouldn't have committed otherwise. To use this defense, you must notify the prosecutor in advance that you plan to claim entrapment, similar to how you'd notify them about an insanity defense.
