What does this charge mean?

This statute makes it illegal to intentionally and falsely create the impression that someone is dead—spreading rumors or making false statements that someone has died. A conviction is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to 11 months and 29 days in jail and/or a fine up to $2,500.
