What does this charge mean?
This law makes it illegal to make a false statement or hide important information on purpose to get a surety bond (a type of financial guarantee) for yourself or someone else. Each false statement or hidden fact counts as a separate offense, and conviction is a Class A misdemeanor (up to 11 months 29 days jail and $2,500 fine).
