What does this charge mean?
This law says it is legal to buy and have shipped to your home: (1) a black powder gun that meets federal definition, (2) a knife with a blade longer than four inches, or (3) a sword, bayonet, or similar weapon—regardless of other state knife and weapons laws. Notwithstanding § 39-17-1307, or any other law, it is lawful in this state for a person to purchase, and have shipped directly to such person’s residence, the following: (1) A black powder weapon; provided, that it meets the definition of 18 U.S.C. § 921; (2) A knife, even if the blade is in excess of four inches (4″); or (3) A sword or bayonet, whether for ornamental, ceremonial, historical, theatrical or collecting purposes, or otherwise.
