Suspension of driver license for failure to comply with financial responsibility law

(a) Upon receipt by the commissioner of a record of conviction of failing to show evidence of financial responsibility pursuant to § 55-12-139, the commissioner shall suspend the driver license of the person convicted of this offense. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105(b) (1) The person may obtain reinstatement of the person’s driver license by meeting the following requirements: (A) Submitting evidence of financial responsibility as required by this section; and (B) Paying the fee provided for in § 55-12-129. (2) After satisfying the requirements of subdivision (b)(1), the person is entitled to the return of operating privileges, otherwise suspended or revoked under this title.
