It is illegal to possess a firearm with the intent to use it armed during the commission or attempted commission of a dangerous felony (any felony involving violence, threat of violence, or serious bodily injury). A conviction results in death, life without parole, or life imprisonment—except for those under 18 at the time of the offense, who cannot receive the death penalty.
